Officials look to help foxes with mange wandering Sea Isle City beach

Officials in Sea Isle city have identified two animals seen roaming the beach late last week as a pair of foxes.

Some had speculated a mother and pup foxes were actually coyotes, but wildlife officials believe the foxes suffer from mange.

Mange is a curable skin disease that affects canines, and officials have set up traps to capture and treat the mother fox and her baby at a rehabilitation center before eventually releasing them back into the wild.

In the meantime, beach goers are asked to stay away from the dunes and any traps they may see so they can catch and help the pair.
