Philadelphia man dies after being struck by lightning in Florida

PHILADELPHIA, PA (WTXF) - A Philadelphia man has died after being struck by lightning Friday on a beach in Florida.

35-year-old Lamar Rayfield is the fifth person to be killed by a lightning strike in Florida this year.

Police say he was on a beach in Brevard County with some of his friends when he and one other were hit by lightning.

Rayfield was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to the hospital.

His friend is in stable condition and was said to be "disoriented but awake" when police arrived.
