Philly officer struck by 89-year-old driver at scene of house fire

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (WTXF) - Police are investigating after an officer was struck by a car at the scene of a house fire in Philadelphia.

According to police, an 89-year-old woman was the person behind the wheel when the officer was struck. At the time, officers were responding to a house fire near Large Street and Shelmire Avenue.

The officer struck was transported to Aria-Jefferson Health Torresdale.

A 60-year-old man was also transported to the hospital after jumping out his first story window to escape the fire.
