Police blame red light runner for crash involving cruiser, other cars

BRIDESBURG (WTXF) - A red light runner hit a police cruiser and closed the intersection of Bridge and Tacony streets in Bridesburg.

It happened shortly before noon. SKYFOX shows all the vehicles, several with dents, taking up the intersection.

Police say an officer was driving south on Tacony Street when his car was hit by a man heading eastbound on Bridge Street and ran a red light.

That caused a chain reaction which included two other vehicles.

There were no injuries to any police officers, but a 33-year-old man and woman in her 30s were taken to the hospital with what police are calling minor injuries.

They did not report on any charges.
