Police: Domino's delivery driver attacked in Overbrook
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Philadelphia police say three women attacked a Domino's delivery driver all over a $10 pizza.
According to police, the women attacked the female delivery driver, followed her back to work, then beat her and trashed her car in Overbrook.
"She got hit with a stick, punched with fists, she got kicked. They took her phone, her money, broke her car up," Southwest Detective Lt. John Walker said.
Police say the 22-year-old Domino's driver made a delivery Monday afternoon to 52nd and Jefferson. When she arrived police say Mariah Perry and Sakeenah Smith had no money to pay for the pizza so the driver tried to leave. Police say they attacked her.
"Three offenders come towards her, smacks her hat, punches her in the face. She drives off," Lt. Walker said.
"When she came back she was in distress, her hair was all over the place, her nails were broke," the victim's co-worker Andre Anderson said.
Investigators say the injured Domino's driver came back to the store at 60th and Lancaster. The 18-year-old Perry and 20-year-old Smith followed her back allegedly looking for more trouble and police say they attacked the driver again.
"She hits her with a stick, punched her in the face, then starts breaking the windows out in her car," Lt. Walker said.
Co-workers say the two women took a stick and shovel to the driver's Mazda compact, smashing out the back window and shattering the front windshield. The Domino's driver was taken to the hospital. Perry and Smith were quickly arrested. Co-workers are worried about the driver and other delivery drivers.
Police are searching for a third suspect. Police say Perry and Smith face robbery and assault charges. According to police, they took $350 and the victim's iPhone.
The damage to the driver's car is extensive. The incident was captured on surveillance video. The driver is expected to be okay.
