Portion of I-295 renamed after fallen Trooper Sean Cullen

A New Jersey State Trooper who died in the line of duty is receiving a special honor more than a year after his death.

A portion of Interstate 295 in West Deptford Township will be renamed as the State Trooper Sean E. Cullen Memorial Highway.

Trooper Cullen was killed while responding to a traffic accident on the same section of highway in March of last year.

Senate President Steve Sweeney and Senator Diane Allen sponsored the bill which was signed Monday by Governor Christie.

Cullen was survived by his young son and pregnant fiancee, who gave birth to a baby boy in August of last year.
