Woman shot in chest, wrist during attempted purse snatching

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - A woman was shot three times in West Philadelphia after someone tried to grab her purse, according to Philadelphia Police.

It happened around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night on West 52nd Street.

The woman was shot in the chest and wrist, and she was taken to the hospital. Authorities say she is expected to survive.

Investigators say a nearby surveillance camera caught the entire incident, and police found her purse nearby, along with what may be the robber's sweatshirt.

No arrests have been made at this time.
