Philadelphia police K-9 passes away after battle with cancer

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - The Philadelphia Police Department announced the loss of one of its K-9 officers Sunday.

K-9 Kane peacefully passed away after a battle with cancer, the department tweeted.

Kane had served the City of Philadelphia since 2012.

He "will be greatly missed by all of his two and four-legged friends," the department tweeted. "Rest in peace, partner."
