Police: Walmart Employee Stabbed While Man Runs Off With TV

Police say they are looking for a robbery suspect who stabbed a Walmart employee in Northeast Philadelphia.

According to police, at approximately 3:24 a.m. Friday, an unknown male attempted to exit Walmart located at 4301 Byberry Road with a shopping cart loaded with two pairs of boots and a large flat-screen Sony 48" TV. The male was met by a 35-year-old who requested to see a receipt for the items in the cart. The suspect showed the complainant a receipt from 2013, police.

The employee then asked the male to produce the correct receipt at which time, the suspect allegedly pulled a knife from his pocket and swung it at the employee, striking the victim's arm and drawing blood. Police say the suspect then grabbed the TV and sprinted out of the store. Once outside, an unknown person helped the offender place the TV into a silver vehicle and both parties fled the location in an unknown direction, according to police.

The employee suffered minor injuries to his arm.
